Welcome to St. Anastasia Catholic Church
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
As the Pastor of St. Anastasia’s Catholic Church in Los Angeles, I want to welcome you to our parish website! If you’re visiting our area and want to find out about Mass times or confessions or other offerings at our church, I hope you will find what you’re looking for and come to worship with us in our church!
If you’re a parishioner here, whether new or old, I hope the continually-updated information on this website will help you to stay very connected and engaged with our community of faith.
Our mission is to:
- Celebrate God’s presence in our lives through the liturgy of Holy Eucharist and all other sacraments
- Educate in the scriptures and the tradition of the Catholic Church
- Grow in faith and holiness through personal and communal prayer
- Witness to Christ and Gospel’s values by service to all those spiritual or physical needs
- Foster and preserve a Christian community and unity where all are invited, welcomed, loved and appreciated.
I pray that you will join us as we worship, serve and grow in our love of Jesus Christ and each other. God bless you!

Letter from Fr. Leszek Semik to the
St. Anastasia Community
Dear Students!
It’s that time of the year again! The store’s shelves are filled with school materials, and everyone is busy with getting back into their routine. It is time for “Back to School.” Time seems to fly by faster than ever before, but time doesn’t go faster at all. Our lives are just busier, and we are more involved than ever with many things that capture our attention.
As you prepare to return to school and continue your education, whether it
be here at St. Anastasia or another institution, I encourage you to take the time to draw upon the strength only the Lord can provide. Remember this; He is going before you to bless you in many ways because He loves you and desires the best for your life!
I realize that students today face greater challenges in school than people of my generation ever had to encounter. Students of today go to school with the threats of violence, drugs, and immorality of every kind, as well as the ever-increasing temptation to cheat on important tests to “stay ahead” of the competition.
As a Christian, you are not immune to any of these temptations, however, you have a relationship with the Lord that you can draw upon to enable you to overcome where it seems that others are failing. I encourage you to find other students who serve God as well, (believe me, they are there), and begin to develop relationships with them, including meeting together at appropriate times for prayer, Bible Study and attending Sunday Masses.
While it may seem a great challenge to share your faith, you will find that as you begin to do so, God will be there to give you the words and wisdom, as you make an impact on the friends around you. In other words, “Let your light shine!” “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your
heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16
Growing in the image of the Lord is always important, as you continue to pray, read the Word for guidance, and as mentioned before, share your faith with those around you. We as a Church stand behind you and will be praying that God will use you in powerful ways as you learn and develop…and yes, teach others around you about Christ!
Blessings in Christ,
Fr. Leszek
