Father Leszek Semik

Pastor

Father Leszek Semik was born and raised in Lipowa, Poland. He attended the Metropolitan Theological Seminary in Krakow, Poland from 1988 to 1994, studying for six years at The Pontifical University of John Paul II where he earned a master’s degree in Philosophy and Theology in 1994. He served as an Associate Pastor for three parishes in Poland: Saint Francis of Assisi in Bielsko-
Bilala, Saint Maximilian Kolbe in Oswiecim, and Saint Bishop Stanislaus.

In 2006, Fr. Semik transferred to the Los Angeles Archdiocese and was assigned to St. Dorothy’s Parish in Glendora. After five years he was assigned to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary in Altadena where he served for three years. In 2014 he was assigned to St. Lawrence Martyr where he served as Associate Pastor. In 2016 Fr. Semik was appointed Administrator of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.


Fr. Leszek Semik became Pastor of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in July 2018.


Monsignor Gregory Cox

Priest in Residence

Monsignor Cox holds a Master of Divinity degree from St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, California. He earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University.


In May 1993, he was appointed Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles. Prior to assuming this position, Monsignor Cox was a Regional Director of the agency’s Our Lady of the Angels Region. During his tenure as a Regional Director, he was instrumental in opening five community services sites which continue to provide a breadth of social services, including case management, referral services, and employment assistance to low-income individuals and families.


As Executive Director, Monsignor Cox is responsible for administering and oversees five service Regions located in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Monsignor Cox has been serving the St. Anastasia community for over 30 years.
